I'm looking to fire the eng up on the chassis before I drop the body back down. What do I need connected to the Alternator? I have the original style installed. Can I just run a wire back to the battery or do I need to connect the 2 wire connector up some how?
Also any thing else I should know or be aware of?
You don't really need to hook up the alternator to fire up the motor. I broke in my motor before I dropped the body, and I didn't hook it up. All I did was hook up temp and oil pressure gauges to moniter those functions.
Be sure to remove the radiator support before you drop the body back on. I learned the hard way, but it was a good idea to start her up to make sure there were no problems. I just used jumper cables and a start switch I rigged up, worked just fine.
Edit: The radiator support can not be attached to the frame during the body drop as it will not allow the body to clear. If the support is attached to the body during the drop it will add extra strength and stability to the nose of the car. I hope I didn't confuse too many of you with my first reply?

Yup - just add power to ignition and starter.
I don't even have the gas tank yet - just stick a couple hoses into the gas can.
I rest the radiator on some foam pads over the frame horns.
My hoses do a good job of holding it in place.
Make sure you are not in gear. You don't want the chassis taking
off on ya.
