Default ordered drag radials

I am a sucker for anything on sale! BFG drag radials 235/60/15 on sale for $109. This size is about 1" smaller diameter than the tires on the car, 225/70/15, but I know they will fit, shouldn't look too stupid and the slightly lower effective gear ratio can only help. 235/65/15 would be the same diameter as the 225/70s, but they cost $156 each... NOT on sale. So now I have to get some cheap wheels that will go right on a 68. What bolt pattern/ backspacing do I need? I don't have to get 7" wheels to fit a 68 do I ?

You are getting serious now. That should reduce your times. I was thinking of this same size myself. Won't give as much traction as the bigger tires but that might save some rear parts. Should be good enough for some 1.8 60 foot times. An 8 inch rally wheel from a 69 or later Vette should work very well for your car.

Thats the same size I run on my '72 at the drags. I have mine mounted on 8" Corvette alum wheels. They made the difference when launching. No more tire spin. Just make sure your u-joints are in good shape.

wow, that was fast!! Brown brought them up the driveway today! Now I need 2 wheels!! I will have to measure mine to check the bolt pattern and backspacing. Anyone know what that was for 7" wheels in 68? Any suggestions for some cheap wheels? I really don't care what they look like, just want CHEAP!
