I'm trying to figure out why my original '75 tachometer spins backwards. If you have original tach wiring, could you please check the color of the two wires to the tach? Is the forward wire black and the rear wire red? Anyone have any thoughts as to any other wiring that might have gotten transposed and caused the reversal?
haha, mine does the same. i was at a traffic light, and when it changed i got on it, ran it through the gears. i get into 2nd, rpm's getting to about 4000, i shift to 3rd, and instead of going towards the 0, it falls to the 7000 side!
now when i drive it goes the wrong way....i am now shifting about 6000.... and even that is basically shifting on sound. who really looks at their tach when they drive anyways?! haha
change the circuit board on all of the above, will fix them up.
That tach consist of a fragile circuit board and a coil, coil swings circuit board tells it where to swing.
The newer cicuit boards are alot better, well SOME of them are stay away from the ones Ecklers sell they're junk.
Actually on mine, I think the problem is Bubba's attempt to rewire the car, Then again if Bubba was under the dash, he probably managed to "fix" the circuit board as well.
