Default Fender Trim

Ok, I have to install the small trim strips that attach to the top of the fender next to the wiper door. I have the clip...it is very narrow. No way will it fit around the fender and the trim plate. Do I grind down the inside of the fender? Or glue the thing is place and forget the clip?

thanks in advance

It takes two clips per side. I install the clips on the fender lip then CAREFULLY slide the flange on the fender trim under the clip between the fender and clip. Then screw the lip to the fender next to the wiper door. I guess you could glue then in place but it is a little too much Bubba for me!

Ok, I only have two clips for both sides....so I will buy two more. But looking at the clips and comparing how wide they are, and then looking at the front end where they clip, I done see how they will go around it. The fiberglass is at least a quarter of an inch thick and the clip looks like its about 1/8 inch thick. I put a new front end on the car a while back, so maybe I need to grind some of the fiberglass away from underneath the fender.

1/8 sounds about right. Either grind the rear fender edge (a real pita) or procure some wider clips.

I still need to do this myself. I have never installed mine on my car. Any pics of installation would be greatly appreciated. I was wondering how these clips were installed.
