Hi all, just a quickie .......... on the 77 when my headlights are on, the drivers side low beam does not work (1 light), when put on high beam it works (all four lights) ...... does this mean the low beam bulb is a 2 filament bulb, or is there a bad connection somewhere? ......... Robert
My low-beams work, but when I hit high-beam ALL FOUR go out. Is this wiring, or bulbs, or switch related? I have some other electrical bubbu-isms to fix, so I've been too chicken to tear into this yet, but winter is coming so it will be added to the to-do list.
Yes ... Low beams are two element bulbs. Notice three prongs. Hi beams are one element.... two prongs. Just replace the low beam light.
great, that is good to know before disassembly ......

Thanks a bunch, Robert
It's possible it just needs bulbs, maybe no inspection where the previous owner was, no night driving at high speeds, etc. ...
Check for power to bulbs w/ lights on.

You really need a meter or at least a test probe w/ a bulb to do electrical.
Robert
That's fine, get 2 Halogens & you will have the good old one as a spare.

I thought the electrical system couldn't take the added stress of halogen headlights. I did a fair bit of research after learning that my headlight switch was almost the cause of a fire and I read a lot of people saying that. There were also diagrams on how to modify the stock system to be able to take the additional load.
