I just purchased a 1978 Pace Car with an L82 4speed. The car is absolutely beautiful and runs great. The car has only 21,400 original miles and is all original except for a new edelbrock carb, new ss brakes, and new Eagle GT4 tires. The 8-track still works(played an Elvis track the other day).
My question is this.
The tires on the car all look like new except for the right rear which is worn pretty badly. Has anyone else seen this with a car of this era?? Is this normal, or could it be caused from another problem with shocks or something else???
Sounds like probably a **** alignment job or the tires havent been rotated and balanced in a good long while. Could be more serious, but its a good starting place.

Anyone insight would be greatly appreciated.

I would check the idler arm first. If it is tight (<1/8 inch movement) then just get it aligned.
Most likely someone replaced just three of the tires. If it's alignment wear, the tire will be worn on one edge and have good tread on the other. If the wear is even across the tire, it's just an older tire. Look for a date code on the tires. It will be stamped into the sidewall rubber. It's only on one side, so they may face inward. It's a three or four digit number representing the week and year of manufacture. 1104 would be the 11th week of 2004. The three digit ones are pre-2000. 289 would be the 28th week of 1999. If the three good ones are close and the worn one is way off it's just been on the car longer.
