looks good right?
only problem is, it wont start now. I get all my accessories (radio, lights, horn) working.. but when I turn the key to start it, I get nothing.
The automatic switch is in the console. The 4 speed is on the clutch pedal. There should be 2 good size purple wires. These are the nutral safety wires or the clutch wires in a 4 speed.
The automatics use the neautral safety switch. The 4 speeds use a clutch safety switch activated by the clutch pedal. Your shifter has to be in park or neutral to start so you don't start in gear. Make sure it's aligned correctly in park.

Happened to me!! Fooled with everything else first and about a week later in desperation slid in under the car to find the groundwire loose on the chassis.....
.......some happy though when she decided to fire up after that on the first turn of the key
Check small stuff first such as battery connections and the connection to the starter and starter ground along with the small wires on the solenoid. And if you can reach it you can use a screw driver on the solenoid and starter to see if the starter will turn. It could just be a stuck solenoid (wrap with hammer ) Always check the easy stuff first before going nuts with the BIG stuff.
All of the above are good suggestions. I have a sophisticated check for the auto neutral safety switch. If it broke, this won't work, but try putting the shift lever in drive and then back into park. Try this a couple of times trying to start between each try.
Also, never uderestimate the vette batery and its ability to confound logic. Most of the accesories don't use nearly as much juice as the starter. You should hear a click though. Though load testing is better, a quick and dirty check for the battery is to turn on the headlights. A bad battery or connection should leave you with dim headlights.
It still could be the neutral switch if all else fails. Try the easy stuff first. If you think it might be the switch just jump the purple wires in the console.
