I just finished my rebuild and got to drive it for the first time (in the driveway). The rest of the car needs finishing yet.
I have a Comp Exreme cam with a .525 lift and my power brakes aren't working very well.
What do you guys use to boost the vacuum? Pump? Canister?
Thanks in advance.
I use Hydratech hydroboost in the 'Vette but I'd do just fine with vacuum since my cam is stock. But in my Fairlane, I only pull 10" hg at a 850rpm idle so vacuum boost is out of the question even with a reserve tank(I tried it, it doesn't work). For that car, I use an SSBC electric vacuum pump. It turns on at 18" and off at 26" hg. Brakes feel almost as good as the hydroboost.

I have one in m y car and it is smaller and better tha nthe vacuum. You can do it from a junkyard but the hydroboost system is a bolt in.
