Default EFI tank baffles

Has not having baffles in the tank caused anyone problems with EFI?

No problems here - my pump is mounted externally for easier access.

No problems. I don't road race/autocross. I keep it above 1/4 tank. Pump is mounted above the RH rail. I'm using an 88 Ford Truck external pump.

No problems here. I am using the stock tank and an external pump mounted on the right side frame rail.

I had major fuel starvation during turning at anything less than 1/3 tank. My first fuel pump only lasted a year and I think the fuel starvation was a factor.

I had a custom aluminum tank built with baffles and a sump. It is now impossible to get airbubbles in the line (I've tried).

Problem here. My new motor requires a lot more fuel pressure now, so keeping it above a 1/4 is necessary. I guess I need to have a custom tank built.

I'm running a internal pump.

Default Consider an OEM self-contained unit....

I put a 90 Bronco internal fuel pump on my 68, just had to make to top hole a little bigger and then the whole thing dropped in. The return line returns to self contained reservoir so there is always fuel returning to the pump suction side. If yours is a 79 it may even have a bigger hole for all the stuff on top.

Happen to have any pics of that set up? Sounds like a winner for EFI.

One of the people at S&P told me that they just did an LS1 conversion, they used a pump that mounts to the sender from a 82 vette, went right in and works fine as 78+ uses the same fuel tank, also read the same thing at corvettefaq.com. Heck of an idea if it works well.

Thanks guys. Sounds like it might just be a "keep you're fingers crossed and hope for the best" type situation. I'm wondering why some have problems while others don't?

I find with my '72 and TPI, and frame mounted pump, with filter B-4 the pump on the suction side, that it's about the best solution...but that does nothing for a hard right turn....

kills it every time....

You have to use the sending unit from an 82 like I did. I used a 90'ish vette pump.

By the way, it's just as easy to modify your current sending unit.

I'd also be interested in seeing pics of your setup. Hopefully someone will host them...
