Tirerack has very good deals but you have to add money for mounting and balancing... I found the cheapest tires at PepBoys, 255/60/15 for 59$.... I didn't buy them because I wanted the raised white letters. I bought 4 BFGGs for 350$ including mounting and balancing and lifetime road hazard (discount tire)...
I mounted my tires with a floor mount manual changer from Harbor Freight and balanced them with a cheap bubble balancer from the same place. They run fine - you just have to make sure to line up the marked low spot on the tire with the valve stem hole. I think the changer, balancer, wheel weights, and the weight hammer cost less than $80 for all. I've used them all a lot with no problems.
No Pep boys stores around here. I'll hit up Autozone and O'Reilly's, maybe NAPA. I really want to get the winged Indy and Firestone logos painted white.

We are on the same page with that. That is my plan as well once I wear out these ancient Goodyear Eagle GT+4 radials that are on it now. I would think that any of the stores you mentioned would have one. It is basically just a paint pen from what I can tell, nothing fancy. If you can't get one there, I bet an art supply store could hook you up with the same animal.
