vin number question
Need alittle help from you Guru's out there. My 74 vin number is 1Z67J4S401094. I understand all of it, however, I do not know the approx date it was built. Can anyone tell me by the last six numbers when it came of the line in St. Louis?

I got it from the Corvette black book. You can get one from almost any corvette supply house like Eckler's or Zip or.....

There should be a trim tag on the driver side door hinge pillar that give codes for exerior paint color and interior trim. In the upper right of the tag is a letter and number that represents a month and day and should be within a few days of when your car was completed. Also, there should be a date on the vehicle certification label near the drivers door latch that gives month and year. September 73 would be B.

I went to the NCRS-Wisconsin web site. They have a "birthday calculator" and according to it your build date is Aug. 30, 1973.
Hope this helps

Opps... I mis-read.. Your car is August 1973. 1094 is a late August car.0125 was the last car built in August 73

I went through this before, and the birthday calculator and calculating
from the first/last VIN were off by days.
By far, the most accurate way is to go with the date on the
trim tag and add 2-3 days for vehicle completion.
Here is a good thread that I started years back ....

Here is a quote from that thread ...

Thanks guys. I knew the Guru's on this site could help me. I was a Junior in HS when it came off the line.
Thanks again.
