NOS Sticker on Ebay

Look at it and compare to griffths'
"GM" font is TOTALLY wrong in addition to the mis-spelling.
Damn!

That sticker photo was taken from this ebay auction for a 69 tri-power.

Some NOS labels were easy to get. Twenty years ago one could go direct to the companies that had supplied these information and warning labels directly to GM. Some even had a small catalog. And you could order them 5, 10, 50, 100 or more for 5 cents each in some cases. This was before the F*ord and GM Restoration Parts Programs came into being and licensed every BowTie, Crossed Flag and other items with trademarks and other IP (intellectual property).
I believe (really CRS) but think this Blue certification label is the only that gets the VIN and some other specific information recorded. About that same 20 years ago, there was a raid conducted by Federal agents at a dozen or so Corvette suppliers. It included GM employees and they were clamping down on their IP. This particular label was considered a problem, because it possibly could assist counterfeiting and car thievery. Most everyone stopped selling them.

PS I was afraid, saved a few and then hid them in a mayonnaise jar, under an old Funk and Wagnall’s Dictionary 18 inches deep in the soil, 12 paces West of the third light post of my second cousins driveway.
Truthfully, I still have them some where, but don’t go to work often and lost track of them. But next time, I’ll see if there is a spelling error on blank originals.
