I, as a new member to this forum, am still trying to understand how it all works, how to show pics when needed and to use the smillies to the right of this message. Obviously I am not as computer literate as I need to be. One other thing that I would like to understand; what are the different designations of forum members: junior member, senior member, elite member etc? I see senior members that have less time in the forum as myself and some do not own a vette; so it isn't length of time or ownership. I am just wondering what constitutes these levels. And how I might use pics in the future to help describe things I've done to make my 79 perform better, more reliaable and more enjoyable to drive. Enlightenment is a wonderful thing as is this forum!!!!

It's all about post counts, the # of posts determine your member status. Don't get hung up on it however, the people with the highest post count are usually those that post tons of OT stuff and misc. junk

Adding smilies is easy, just click the one you want to insert and the code is entered at the end of the message line that you are typing. Same for pics, just enter the url where the pic is hosted (online)

You can add an avatar under your name by clicking on "user CP" above the threads. The click on edit avatar. You can pick one from the forum or upload a small picture from your hard drive.

Having been on the forum a while, I'd strongly suggest you go to the forum gallery and establish your own free gallery of photo's. A few years ago the forum offered free web sites but had to stop because of it's own success. Get a gallery now, who knows when it'll be closed to new members.

I appreciate the info guys. I don't want to bog the forum with things that do not help its members. Long before I became a member I realized C3'S had an interior heat problem and by trial and error I resolved them. Now I see that you guys have had the same problems and found cures for them. I could have saved myself a lot of time and aggravation if I had known about you sooner. I enjoy the threads and will add my input and questions when appropriate!

I agree that it's all about post count. I just noticed tonight that I have graduated from junior member to member and I didn't solve world hunger or anything like that to get promoted. To insert smilies just click on one and it gets inserted into your post.

use pictures to illustrate a point just make them 450x450 and they don't expand to be too big for the screen.... you will notice some pictures are huge and require you to scroll to the right to see them, i try not to do this and if i do i go back and edit it...

Go here & read about resizing your photo's. I resize mine to medium which seems to work well. On your HD, find the photo, left click once on it, the right click once, then look for "resize photo's."

Do worry about posting topics which may not benefit the forum (that would exclude most of my posts). Some of the funniest stuff comes out of goofy threads. Unless it's really off topic, then go to OT....which is a whole nuther world.
