What option was a 69-only option that was a carry-over from the C2's?

What other external trim option was a 69-only option?

When were fiber optics introduced and what year did they dissappear?

When was the removeable rear window dropped?

Other than 77 and up, what other years did the stingray or sting ray nameplate not appear on vettes beginning with 63's?

Other than the Zl-1, what is the next rarest 69 engine option (not what you might think)?

6. Supposedly there were 2 LT-1 Vettes in 69. I know one of them was dealer installed for sure. The other may have been a factory test mule. In the 69 AIM it shows the LT-1 stripe placement diagram. That would have been a neat car...69 LT-1 with sidepipes!

All correct except 6.

The answer to #6 is the L89 option (L71 with aluminum heads) which was ~20, fewer than the legendary L88 which was 169 vettes in 1969.

I'm not sure because I've never heard of or seen one. Is that one you mentioned documented? The L89s are definitely the next rarest since there are many verified examples.

Paul - When I wrote this question I was thinking that the 67s did not have the Sting Ray emblems either because when you hear about them people say they were devoid of emblems that were on the earlier C2s. I'm assuming from your answer that I am wrong?

Yep, the dealer installed LT-1 is in the 69 Stingray Guidebook. It has pictures with the stock 69 small block hood.

The L89 option was 390 units in 1969. The L88 engine was 116 units, broken down as 99 manuals and 17 automatics. The 101 M22's were distributed to the 99 L88's and the 2 ZL1's.

My guess would also have to be the supposedly 1 built '69 LT-1, as to what is rarer than the ZL-1 engine in 1969.

This is a 1979 L-82 intake. Note the thermal vacuum switches (TVSs) for the EFE and EGR systems on the thermostat housing and intake respectively. Some C3s of that era had a second TVS on the thermostat housing. In fact you can see the cast/plugged boss where some housings were threaded. What was the purpose/function of that third TVS? I do not know the answer to the question but have always been curious.
