I think the last time I used the "bottle" was when I was about 2 years old.

[QUOTE= I guess what I'm trying to say is the cam/combination you have is fine if you want a hot street performer. If you wanted a smooth idling fast car,buy a C-5.[/QUOTE]

It doesn't have to be as smooth as a C5 but I don't want an ill-mannered, brute with marginal driveability either. My Vette has an ISKY cam with 2.5 degrees of overlap @.050(221/232)and it is fast with a noticeable idle. This XR294 has 25 degrees of overlap @ .050. That's a BIG difference. I'll probably try it and if I can't live with it, I'll change it.

Now that's funny I wonder if the C6 owners will be looking down their noses at the C5 guys, nothing like a new car to make you feel like a superior human being

Yo "C", In New York my '71 Z-28's plate was NAS T Z and had NO BOTTLE. Didn't even have a pacifier.

It's fun messing with you. Maybe you can make to the Super Chevy Show @ Bradenton, seeing your getting/have a 700R4 now.

I also ask for an Art Carr 9.5 inch three clutch lockup converter, but when I was testing it it was more like 3500.
If I was having a 427 or even a 406 built I probably wouldn't be concerned. I'm just conservative when it comes to cams. I'd rather have a vehicle that I can drive when I want and still hold it's own at the track instead of one that sounds badazz but is a pain to cruise and may not live up to it's thumping idle at the track.

Ya'll need to remember now, this motor/trans is going into my S15 Jimmy. My Vette is set as it is. I've had a 700R in it for years. I can't even take the bottle out of the Vette. It starts running rough, missing, etc. I think it's addicted too!

As for Super Chevy, they axed Montgomery. I could see that one coming.

I have a CC hydraulic roller in my 383 also.....these cams act larger than they are durationwise. With your heads, a 4.10 gear, & 3200 rpm stall this would be the perfect cam. Vacuum is a little low, but enough to open the headlights.
