norm,,where's your cooler located at? behind the radiator i suppose, reason i ask is i still never installed mine, sittin in the box for almost 1 yr now....................i wish i could sleep, this insominia is really startin to take a toll on my body
My coolers disipate the heat and do not need to be in the flow of air. I have (2) 1ft. coolers that are mounted on left and right side of the back side of the main crossmember.
i just got done relocating my extra cooler. it now rests on a bracket under my Monza headlight housing. the cooler lays parallel to the ground, but still should get plenty of air and not impede airflow to the radiator.
What type of fittings is better?? I was checking out the B&M 70266 cooler which comes with 1/2" NPT fittings... It's rated 28000 GVW. Don't know if this will be enough cooling for my tranny...
Those B&M coolers are very efficient. I've used one for several years bypassing the radiator. I've never seen my gauge go beyond 180 and that was at the track on consecutive runs. Otherwise its at 160 or less. BUT... be careful with those NPT fittings. I had a hose come loose (my fault) and lost about 8 qts of VERY expensive Royal Purple in about a half block.
The hose clamps were my initial test fit, I'm currently using exhaust clamps to hold it in place. Drove it like that this past summer without it moving. Rod
