Lots of opinions in here. Look at:

I'd go for the ignition switched 12V on the wiper motor.

On my '78 their is a small hole (a vac and some wires in it) in the middle/drivers side on the firewall. Just run it down and hook it into bat. in the fuse box (you want power with the key on).

The fusebox "BAT" terminal is hot all the time, even without the key on - don't use that one. If you use the fusebox, use an "IGN" terminal. But as noted above, it's real easy to just use the wiper motor terminal on the wiper motor.

I just got done swapping in a new motor that has a Mallory HEI disdributer on it. That think had a hot wire coming from it that was not used and I plugged it right into my electric choke.

I though I heard somewhere to never do that so since this thread is running anyone really know the real scoup on this one?
