Chevy has to stop this. That is killer power. This motor would be awsome in any car let alone a C3 @ <3,000 lb and no cats. Aluminum block 427 - Oh baby get out of the way! And 500 ponies with a warrenty. I can see a market here for retrofit kits (Budman u got a new business).
Only fact that can save me is my bank account balance and maybe since it won't be out until fall 2005.
Paul u need to include a warining label with ur posts. Something like this post is not intended for those with hi-blood press. cardo0

That whole set-up, transaxle and all would be sooooo sweet under a street rod.

Hey Paul, at that price they'll sell a million (price: $0). I have a friend who is an insurance adjuster who has promised to link me into a new Z06 when he gets one in from a write off. With that power it might not be too long after they hit the market, as he told me; so many of these new vettes are leased by "guys" who have never driven a hipo vehicle before and it quickly gets away from them compared to their Lexus's and SUV's.
I wonder if Smook will trade his newly bought '04 Z06 in on this C6 Z06 after a test drive.

Do you think it would work with a Powerglide?

Paul, that engine is crying to go in your C2. btw everytime I see your pics I drool. The Escalade has a 7.0L engine in it as well which has proven very reliable and I think that this is the basis for the Z06 engine.

the escelades are all 6.0L, same with the other large truck engines. If the z06 is indeed a 7.0L it will most likely be very similar to the c5r racing blocks which are 7.0L.

I didn't think Chevrolet would have the nerve to try a Cadillac engine in a Corvette. They do have some engineering class in terms of originality....

Now, I just need to custom bend some headers to hook that puppy up to the sidepipes. Oh, the possibilities.

My 1967 has about 225 net HP. Well, I can't afford the tires.

Cadillac only has one pure Cadillac motor this day it seems. The Northstar. It's in the XLR... the STS too I believe. The CTS-V uses the Z06 LS6.

The Escalade is using a "corporate" motor which is more or less what we all consider a 3rd gen Chevy Small Block.

I always liked the old Cadillac 500 - what a mill! Good performance parts still available for it....
