Default mufflers

ok sorry guys and glals but another muffler question. My 78 is in shop and he is going to put in new exhaust system from manifolds back. what mufflers should I use? I don't want quiet but medium rumble would be nice. What brand and where should I buy?
Thanks

I had the same desire for my 80... first installed a set of Flowmaster Delta 40s. Great sound...but the neighbors didn't think so...

Switched to Dynomax Super Turbos... Love the sound...deep and powerful.

I have the Borla's, nice rumble, and you can still talk at highway speeds.

Jeg's has them.

I have the delta flow 40's on my '80 and i don't think they're too loud at all. In fact, they're not as loud as I expected when I put them in. I still love 'em.

I'm also running DeltaFlow 40's and I don't find them to be very loud. I like 'em.
The 2-1/4" pipes on m car might have a lot to do with them being relatively quiet, almost too quiet.

I have Flomaster 40's on my 79 and love the sound. I expected them to be louder. They do have resonance at certain rpms but it doesn't last long. I can talk to and listen to passengers while driving with no problem but you always know they are there; so everyone else knows you are too. As for the neighbors, I don't complain about their mufflers and they don't complain about mine; in fact, they say they sound great. But I don't rev them in the neighborhood either. Install what you like and want and enjoy!
