T56 Viper or basic trans ?
I am at the final to order a T56 6 Speed overdive trans. for my 68 BB Vette.
www.DDPerformance.com offers a GM/T56 Viper 650 FT/LBS close ratio trans with mechanical speedo drive for 2.499 USD.
I guess the normal GM/T56 450 FT/LBS would also do for my more or less stock 427 CI BB, but I can't see that this one is offered with the mechanical speedo adapter ?
And one more thing, the T56 has a 30 tooth output slip yoke.
Will it fir my driveshaft or do I require what exactly for the drive shaft ( beside shortening it )
Any ideas ?

I think that the tailhousing is the only difference between the mechanical speedo version and the one with the VSS.

Differences between both T56 are a bit more than only the tailshafthousing. Both have differnt gear ratios as well.
The T56 Viper one requires a 30 tooth slipyoke.
This slipyoke requires a 1350 U-joint.
Is this the U-joint of the original 68 Vette driveshaft ?
