Default DYNO Graphs - Post'em!!

O.K.,
Looking for dyno graphs and a quick description of your mods.

Also, it would be GREAT to see some motor dyno's backed up with what your ended up with on a Chasis dyno.

I know we have some crazy HP cars here.....let's see those dynos!!

That's a heck of a torque curve! Thanks for sharing.

I can't make out the AF ratio you have there. What were you tuning for?

Bryan
The A/F was way too lean at high RPM's.. somewhere around 14 - 15
It might have had something to do with a clogged fuel filter...
The guy that bought the engine found out that the stone filter caused lack of fuel...

Here's mine with a full exhaust system and mufflers I would expect a huge increase when i get my Hooker sidepipes on and run them open like GSC3.

I kust did one pull for fun with no tuning I shut it down at 5 grand to because I already blew a few gears out of the original Sper T10 with this motor

I don't know where the HP is going to go in the spring when I take it to 6500 RPM with a new TKO 600, Hooker sidemounts, tuning and Holley 950HP carb but I am pretty sure it will be well north of 400RWHP

You should be well in the 400 - 420 RWHP range with your setup..

Dyno graph, Rear wheel power.

Red curve: dyno after I got the car (mostly stock).
Blue curve: All mods in sig except crappy intake and carburetor. No dyno with EFI yet.

Another fine graph. Did you ever have your new buildup on an engine dyno?

There should be some excellent cold weather there in Plano right about now; might not be bad timing for some EFI tuning. **Thanks again for sending me your Holley 950 MAPS**.

That really is unbelievable!! That thing must really feel like a rocket!

I would love to get a few more specs on your car. Do you happen to have a webpage?

Very, very impressive my man!

This is a real street engine with original heads that could live life as a daily driver, but for some reason, my dyno numbers come out about 40-70 hp more than bigger the ZZ3s and ZZ4s.

331 CI, pump-friendly 9.5:1 CR
K&N 14"x4" air filter, Corvette drop base and lid
Holley 600 dp, choke horn milled, polished
1/2" Aluminum open spacer port matched to manifold, exterior polished
Edelbrock Performer RPM, port matched, exterior polished with all extraneous castings and lettering removed
Homemade lifter valley splash shield to keep hot oil off manifold bottom
Camel hump 1.94/1.50 heads hogged out to 2.02/1.60, pocket ported, port matched, pump-friendly hardened seats, 3-angle valve job
Comp Cams 1.52:1 roller-tip rockers
Crane Cam Vintage Muscle 327/350 hp cam, 222 degrees @ 0.05", 0.447" lift (with 1.50 rockers)
Doug Thorley headers, dechromed and ceramic-coated
2.5" mandral-bent exhaust (including tips), 2" cross-over just before rear axle
DynoMax stainless Ultra Flow mufflers
Mallory Hyfire IV CD ignition box triggered off Accel points
Mallory high voltage chrome coil
Mallory spiral-wound coil wire
Mallory solid copper plug wires, ends soldered to wires
Champion plugs
37 degrees total ignition advance
Carter high-volume fuel pump
Melling high volume oil pump
Open breathers
Polished aluminum high flow water pump
Flex fan with polished aluminum spacer
Polished aluminum one-wire 100 amp alternator
Muncie M-20 CR 4-speed
Hurst shifter
3.70:1 positraction
225/60/15 Firestone Firehawk SZ50s on 7”-wide Western 30-spoke Turbine Wheels

Engine has never been professionally tuned up. Car recently did 293 ft-lb and 292.7 hp @ 5,500 rpm at the wheels on the chassis dyno. Engine pulls to 6,200 rpm and does over 200 ft-lb from 1,900 rpm. This was prior to some clean-up work around the junction of the carburetor and base of the air cleaner that smooths the flow through this area and should be good for a few ponies. Car has run 107 mph in the high 13's (old, bad tires) at the quarter. Car is extremely streetable and could probably even run 87 octane if it had to. (I can't get the engine to ping no matter how far I advance the ignition.)

I've just done some modifications in the area of the carburetor/air cleaner base interface that substantially smooths the flow through this area. When Lars comes next month and tunes this thing up, I would expect at least 300+ hp at the wheels.

The secret to power is in the attention to details!

Thanks Bryan. It does merge into traffic well. No 1/4 mile numbers yet, but I put over 3K miles on it this past summer. Next spring I will.

548" Mark IV Bow Tie block
11.2:1 CR
AFR 335 CNC heads
ported Vic Jr intake (Bernard Mondello)
Carb Shop Holley 4150 HP 1000 carb
Comp solid roller 266/272 @ .050
2 1/8" headers 3 1/2" exhaust w/ Borla XR-1 mufflers
Richmond Gear 5 speed by G-Force
3.08 1350 Tom's IRS

There are 2 other forum members I know w/ very serious pump gas engines. Jim Moore (427Hotrod) has a healthy 540" in his 67 convertible that runs 10.0 @ 140 on pump gas. You may have seen it on the cover of Feb Corvette Enthusiast. I'm guessing he puts out about 700 RWHP. Steve Barker (632C2) has a 632" Big Chief stuffed in his 67 coupe. He spins the Dynojet at over 900 RWHP w/ a deceptively stock factory appearence (well except for his 'stingersaurus' hood scoop). And another forum member, 69 N.O.X RATT, has recently purchased a 63 drag Vette that he's targeting over 1400HP w/ nitrous. And he's going to drive it on the street! Some serious C2's lurking around here!

Take care,

Mark
