this is the SECOND time this has happened.
taking the car on one last ride before snow,mouse comes out of hood and runs around car..at stoplite and i knock on back window to scare it off..so i dump the clutch and it falls off and the car behind me SWERVS into traffic to miss it !!..imediately i notice a drop in power..should get me a rat motor !
what you need are mouse traps.....that little guy has been chewing on your wires....look for the smoke leaking from wires....
Yeah!! THAT'S no joke!! You have GOT to keep the smoke inside the wires, otherwise all the power just "goes away"!!
If a mouse has been chewing on the wires, then they must be replaced, because the smoke will keep escaping!

so right after we get the beast....we are working on the car and i have my son pull out the seat to remove the carpet fragments and then reinstall and tighten down the seats....bubba has hot wired the power window switchs directly to the battery ...i say...son make sure you don't nick or pinch those wires...I step inside for a moment to here "dad i think the cars on fire"...i say why do think that ...he says "cause its filling up with smoke"....he pinched the wire between floor board and seat frame....
