I replace the 42 year old front springs on my 1973 with 550 Lbs

http://www.ecklerscorvette.com/corve...1963-1982.html

Those dropped the front a good inch +

I still need to get longer bolts for the rear.

Looking at your pic below, I see you tightened the nut on the spring bolt all the way.

The more you tighten the nut the further you raise the car. Use a nyloc nut and just start it on the bolt. Here's a couple pics of my '73.

Correct…a rear sway bar can be put on any vette. NOTE that Kidvette has the CORRECT sway bar using the GM end links, NOT rear aftermarket bars using the end link setup like on the front sway bar….not a good idea since the front sway bar end link setup on the rear bar trailing arm will restrict the movement of the trailing arm adversely in turns….

No way to measure them now as they are installed. I would call Eckler's and ask Tech Support if they know.

Default Lowering

I have been looking to change the bolts from OE to 8 inch to lower the rear. I see people put C-clamps on the spring to help ensure it doesn't slip. I have read many warnings about popping when you release the bolt, kicking it off the jack, etc. I have heard about people putting sand bags under the springs (not sure where). Im very nervous - any advice from people who have done this in a home garage?

I just put those spring in my 82. This is how she sits now. Actually I think it raised the front end but I like it anyway. The old springs were sagging. But I remember the new springs next to the old springs looked just like your photo.
