I posted pics of it in OT, Chris. You missed my thread?
If you posted it between Thursday & today then I did miss it. I've been at the NCRS show in Orlando & I just got back a few hours ago. Thanks for reposting the pics.

Welcome.
OK, I will get hubby to look for the hoses tomorrow. It seems like there was 2 hoses going to it today when he was putting the new motor on it. But, I am not sure. I will ask him about that.

Yes, it was posted then. No problem about the pics. You know me well enough I was just picking! Hope you had a good visit in FL.
The door handles are a pain.... nothing that I tried helped ....
Try to buff the paint, get a clay bar, paint cleaner, polish and so on... you may be able to safe the paint. A paint job will be at least $2000, anything cheaper and it looks worse than before.

$2000 would be great! I was thinking way more than that! The paint can't be saved. There are several places where it is chipped off. I dont know if you can tell from the pics, but there is a lot of white on the car. Thats where the paint is gone. In the first picture you can see the worst spot. Right above the light on the side, on the bumber, there is a big white spot. NO paint at all there. I hopefully can get it looking much better though. I want to wet sand it and wax it up good ASAP. It is supposed to be in the 50's tomorrow. So maybe I can get it done then.

maybe you can do a lot of the prep-work yourself... that safes a lot of money, the guys at the shop can then see if there's fiberglass repair needed or not - many shops don't even want to paint Vettes because they can't see what's under the paint (previous Bubba repairs, cracks and so on) ...mine was painted for $500 and it looks so horrible.....

Hmmm I haven't thought about that. I am not used to dealing with all fiberglass. That's something to think about as far as who to get to paint it, too. They need to be good at FB repair.
Your pics of your car look awesome! But, I guess its up close when you can tell it more.
Is your door hard to close? I mean, do you almost have to slam it to get it to shut? If this is the case, then it might not be the handle. It might be that the door is closed and excerting outward pressure. This would make the handle hard to press because the door lock mechanism is rubbing against the door stopper while you are trying to open it.
Possible reasons for this could be that the door is not lined up (weak hinges) or that wrong weatherstripping or additional weatherstripping has been added to the existing weatherstripping and is too thick to shut the door without slaming it.
Hope this helps. And welcome to the world of C3 Corvettes.

Thank you for the welcome!!
No, the door is nice and tight as it should be. It shuts/opens very good. Its just the stupid pad is soooo hard to push down. I sometimes have to get the hubby to open it for me. I worry about driving it somewhere and getting out and not being able to get back in! It's truly bad. I mentioned before, the guy tightened it up somehow. I may have to go to him and find out how he did it, so I can undo it some.
The hot water system has a valve in it to keep the temps cooler in the cockpit during the summer. The factory unit works with vacuum and when it went bad was replaced by a hardware store valve in may cases. Follow the heater hoses from the manifold to the firewall and you should find one or the other type of valve.

The previous owner probably took off the door panels and tightened the linkages or possibly he replaced the springs that keep the flapper up. If it's the linkages you can readjust them. If he replaced the spring it will get easier with use.

HEY! Yeah, I am usually over there, but now that I am an official VETTE-GIRL I can hang here too. Unless I get kicked out or something. I just need to remember to be nice here, right? After all, its not OT.
I am still waiting on the C6 vert to get RIGHT, so hubby bought me this to hold me over and possibly stop some of the b****ing I have been doing about having to wait. I LOVE the C3 models! Those curves are great!

Don't sell off the C3 when you finally get the C6.
