C4 advantages

I am not tryign to flame, it just seems like this topic never dies. The great thing about being a vette lover is that they've been around for over 50 years and not have 6 generations - enough for all of us to find something that we can afford and really like.
The advantage my C4 has over any other generation is that it is mine and paid for. I like and dislike thigns about each generation - including ours.

That being said, one thing I like about my C4 (especially since it's my daily driver) is the location of the gas cap. It's nice to be able to pull up on any side of the pump and get gas.
I love the C5, and yes , lets admit it, its just a better car, but I won't sell my C4 to get a C5...BUT.....at least for me, THE C5 ON ONE DAMNED FREAKING UGLY CORVETTE. THERE ARE NO LINES AND ANGLES. THE INTERIOR IS BORING AND TURNS ME OFF.
The answer? Very simple. Mod the beautiful C4 and the game is over, nothing else to even dream about.

Why must we be so compelled to always focus on the C5 here in C4? Do the C3 guys spend so much time validating their cars vs. the C4?
I am not tryign to flame, ...
For the last 8 years, some (NOT ALL) C5 owners have tried to use the changes in generation to distinguish themselves as 'the best' among us. (I say again, "NOT ALL C5 owners did this"). Now for the most part, C4 (and others) knew this bosting for what it was, but some of us 'took the bait' to argue.
What distinugished the C4 from the other generations was that it was the cheapest price-of-entry vette. So the type of guy that would buy the newest and look down at others, held the most comtempt for the guys that owned a $4,000.00 vette.
Add this to the 'squeekie-wheel' affect where people who are unhappy make the most noise, and all of the C5 bashing around here for the past few years comes neetly into focus.
With the C6, this (predictably) has begun to fade. C5 owners have some realities to come to grips with, and the 'ego-purchasers' have moved over to a C6, and now show contempt for people in $19,000 vettes, who are so primative, they STILL USE KEYS.
So I wouldn't worry too much about the C5/C4 debate around here. I'm sure that all of the people who feel like fighting that war are already in the process of moving on.
I regularly browse the "General" section of all of the generations here, and I have noticed that the "all vette owners are family" attitude in the C1-3 sections is spreading here, and the "what are THOSE guys thinking" has already shifted to the C6 section.
Anybody notice the same thing? Or am I just a dreamer?

The C-4 Has a spare tire.I might be old fashioned BUT I like having a spare. My wife and I take a lot of road trips on Saturadays, and will put between 2 to 4 hundred miles just hitting back roads and a lot of the times we are in the middle of no where. I like knowing if I do have a flat I can change it and keep going. Do not like the run flats.

"C4's Don't" have a fuel gage that dances the Lambada
"C4's Don't" leak oil out of the rear diff.
My C4 has a seat rock problem, the fuel guage is way off, and it leaks out of the rear diff.
The reason C4s are better than C5s, is because you're asking C4 owners. The same will apply in the C5 section.
2 things about the C4 that jump out that are better than the C5:
that sweet "cockpit" feel
the best looking backend on any car ever
My C4 has a seat rock problem, the fuel guage is way off, and it leaks out of the rear diff.
However - these are not common problems with the C4......they're very common is C5's
Heck I love my C4...... but I also love the C5's.....and C6's
I really like the C6, but I love the C4, and don't get me wrong I recognize the C5 is a killer performer and an improved machine, but it just looks too "melted" to me, esp. the front end, and something at the rear just looks like the designers got too fussy with it. With a car like this that's largely a "passion purchase", you really need to be in love with the look of the thing.
I love the interior of my '95 as well, compared to a C5. I'm not a small guy yet it just fits me like a leather glove...then again I drive Miatas a lot of the time so nothing is going to feel TOO tight to me with that frame of reference

Actually, no it isn't. Beats me.
The C5 had a very different, almost bmw feel ride/handling etc.
They're both nice.
