Being it was a nice day Saturday I decided to take my 3 year old with me to Ecklers. 5 C5 owners.......no return waves. 1 Harley rider....big wave. Figure that one.
I find that very few of us down here in Florida do the "corvette wave" anymore. But, amazingly when I'm riding my motorcycle - everyone waves (biker to biker) no matter what you're riding - Harley, Chopper, Import, etc....
As far as the vette wave goes... I'll never initiate the wave, but if someone waves to me, I never miss the opportunity to wave back!
I always The first time I took my vette out (about 3 years ago now) I got waves from numerous vettes. I used to ride street bikes so I was familiar with the wave comcept - but little did I know about the vette wave. I was stoked that vettes had the wave just like bikes do. Save the wave!
I'll never forget the first time I took out my first vette and some stranger in a C5 gives me the wave. I'm like, what the hell? It didn't take long to figure it out. My 8 year old daughter loves to ride with me; she's always on the lookout.
Seems to be about half and half here in eastern NC. I figure those that don't wave are kinda like some of the Harley guys around here....scared to turn loose.
I get a return wave about 98% of the time. A few c5's don't wave. Everyone else does - even had a c4 flash his headlights (raised them up and put them down) at an intersection during the middle of the day, to be sure I saw him. I waved!! I always do!
