starting problem, need help
Hi guys,
My 89 vette wont start after it runs for a while and when I leave it sitting for a while it starts ok. Not sure yet how long to leave it running before it wouldn't start again when I shut it off. Any ideas. This just started happenning.

If it does it when it is warm, it is most likely a leaky injector.Just re-read your post. Does it crank and not start or does it not crank or anything and then you wait a few minutes and it cranks up? If it is the latter it could be a VATS problem and you need to spray contact cleaner in the key cylinder and the pellet on the key.
Either way let us know what you find out.

hard to evaluate on the little bit of info you left us to work with like midnite88 said does it turn over and not start or does it not do anything just leave us with somemore info

thanks guys. additional info to clarify the problem a little bit better.
It would crank and start at the first try but as soon as it starts and I turn it off again, it would crank but wont start. It is not the vats system. This just started happenning 2 days ago or longer since I may have not noticed it before. I would usually drive it to where ever I want to go and park it and it would usually start right away. It just so happens that I shut the car off before I got it in the garage and when I try to re start it, it wont. I left it for half hr or so and it re started fine. SO, to make it short: the car will start after left alone for hr or so, but wont fire up the engine when I turn it off and re start.
It cranks but just wont fire up.
