Default Stupid Question...

I know I probably should know the answer to this but anyway.. I have a 96 auto and I was just wondering which is overdrive and which is drive, the plain D or the D with the box around it. Also, which one should I use for everyday driving? Thanks in advance and try not to laugh too hard at me

I tend to use the D around town cause I like the added engine control, however you will prob get less fuel mileage doing this. I believe around 45 mph, the OD would cut in to reduce RPM.

Default Stupid Question

No such thing as a "stupid question". If you don't know the answer, thats what the forum is all about.

sorry I'm not laughing at you... I swear I'm laughing with you!!! I do agree with what John wrote though. If you don't know the answer, how are you supposed to find out??? Some questions will warrant a flogging and some of us may remind you of this question at some point in the future, but now you know the answer Point being... don't be afraid to ask a question... especially if it is Corvette specific... someone here will know the answer!!!

isn't it nice to see a group of people with a sense of humor?

i posted a thread similiar to this awhile back and it seemed almost 50/50. some run d in town and od on hwy. i put it in od and forget about it. i have a 93 with 125000 original miles and do not have any problems. tranny seems solid and well built. but....... dang just jinxed myself

my mpg for the last 4 full tanks ran around 25. (i drive very mild, all them pony's kinda spook me)
