Another engine washing thread
I've read through a few of the power washing posts and everything seems to be okay as long as the distributor doesn't getr soaked. What about everything else in the engine bay? I want to wash the hood and everything below it and some of those other hard to reach places, but don't want an electrical short or something like that. I don't have a power washer anywhere near by, so I was going to use our hose with a nozzle on the end (we have excellent water pressure). Is there anything else that shouldn't get wet?

Don't douche anything with a wire on it. IE your TPS, distributer, injectors etc. While your car may run with a wet 12V connection: a solid stream of water may gotten past the weatherpack connection and started some corrosion. Some of the circuits register differences in millivolts and corrosion can jack that up! That said; I wash mine but I am bored Electrician.

Think it was all said. but, simple green and plastic don't go well, so avoid that, and let it set for 20-30 minutes before rinsing, and a good scrub brush and scotch brites work well. have fun
