FYI to anyone thinking of upgrading to a DynaSpark. I just called them and they informed me that they are back ordered until "after" January. Because they produce these as a "side" business, they did not anticipate the demand and are having difficulty getting parts. They are not taking any orders until the begining of next year.
Bummer, because I have everything removed and wanted to upgrade from the original Opticrap.
The Dynaspark Distributor is not a side business for us, but rather another facit of performance component manufacturing we do here. Also, the parts are not "getting difficult" to get, we just don't have the latest run from our suppliers as of yet and they won't be ready for shipment until the very last part of December. Given all the Holidays and what-not coming up with employees being off for vacations, family events, etc., we are not going to be at full capacity until the first of 2006; hence the reason for the production delay until that time.
Sounds like bussiness is good.I am sure some of the Dynaspark supporters would think it is due in part to the feedback we have provided.Sounds like you may need to take orders to que up a line so people who are willing to wait will get theirs first.Mabey put some overtime or hire some help when the parts get in.Just my .02
Thanks for the corrected information DynaSpark,
I was really looking forward to installing your superior product and unfortunately, I will have to install the inferior stock OE. Rick
In my personal opinion, I would wait to get the dynaspark, the OEM unit really sucks.
But if your vette is a daily driver, well, that is another story!
I wanted a Dynaspark badly. Called them up, ordered it, was told it would be shipped in 7 business days, and I waited. After three weeks of waiting, I called them and was told it was going to be built in a week. I promptly canceled that order and purchased an optispark unit from Summit racing for less than half the cost of the Dynaspark. Personally, I can't wait that long for parts. Just my 2 cents..... no change please

I'm with you. I live in a climate with very low humidity (7-10%) and I just went with an updated optispark. I still won't wash the engine with water, but in this dry climate, I'm not worried about it.
Do you have a website for them? Also, are they built as well as DynaSparks? If so, I'll jump on that tip as this is somewhat of a daily car. I drive it at least 3x's a week. I'm in So. CA (Hollywood) and the weather is too good to store until next year. Let me know.
Thanks in advance, Rick

Visit DynaSparks website and you'll be convinced it is a superior product. The website lists how it is constructed as well as the benefits, and in my opinion, they FAR outweight what the OE opticrap has to offer. I'm just just p.o'd that GM did not spend alittle more R&D on this Opticrap being it was in a bad area to begin with.

I read somewhere that GM sells about 30 000 units of Opticrap every year, so it is a good bussiness policy to keep their design working that bad. Imagine how much they are making just to sell and install those units at GM shops.
They really suck!
When I went to the GM shop they would charge me $ 900 + tax for the opticrap and labour that was about $1500. All that wonderfull work done in about 4 to 5 weeks!!!!
I got the Helms manual, done it myself and even if the work is hard, it is a better way to keep your car in good condition. You can take your time and use the correct tools for the job, torque every screw correctly and avoid the fights with mechanics!
Its great to have aftermarket parts, specially when they are manufactured carefully without shortcuts.
