I am guessing the HD/Lowes bushings are not exactly made to a high precision so I would think it is possible the various tolerences/wear on your gears and the bushings happen to match up better then someone else's setup. A few thousandths can make a big diference on the failure rates. You might have also got a better batch of nylon.

If they were gonna' go ****-up, they would have done so by now. Most people say their lamps only lasted for a few cycles with HD bushings. I'm good and satisified with the performance and durability of mine.
