okay, thanks. is the techron just an additive they put in the gas, is that why the gas is a little more pricey?
Yes, I think Chevron puts in in their Premium grade gas. The one you can buy in the auto parts store is more concentrated and cleans injectors, valves, etc. I've used it on several of my cars over the years with great success.
As long as you run 93 or 94 octane and hit the highway once in awhile and open her up, you should be ok. JMO. Plus I replace my fuel filter every other oil change. I hate putting any kind of crap in my car.
Good fuel -cheap
Fuel filter-cheap
engine-NOT!!!

The difference between gas brands are only in the additives. The midwest gets their gas from the same pipeline and then adds the additive later to distinguish from the rest.
The History Channel's Modern Marvels: Gasoline was pretty interesting.
I have used BG44k for a couple of years and had good results. But since I've been on this forum and introduced to Seafoam I've switched. Seafoam smoothed out the idle and seemed to improve the performance on my F150 and a buddy's Nissan Sentra. The Sentra has over 150K miles and he says it runs better now than it has in years. Seafoam also costs about a third of what BG44k is.

I love BG products. Their induction system cleaner, 44k and the oil additive are all great. Problem is since I left San Diego for New Hampshire I can't find a supplier. Anybody know who the rep is in the New Hampshire seacoast area?
Ive used techron. Bit pricey for a additive but it helped my gas mileage a bit. Wish i could think of a few more things. I only get 12 miles to the gallon
