I hope this encourages you-my 87 Ruby got backed into-punched a hole right above front tire, guy pulls out and backs across my front bumper-NO Ins.-this was a little over a year ago. I have uninsured motorist-the ins. company paid for a new front bumper and new clam shell, all work and paint, came to around $5000.I paid out about 1200 to have the rest of the car painted so I had no worries about everything matching. Good Luck-I can relate to the pain.

Thanks for the words of encouragement. I am meeting with the adjuster this morning. I am worried about finding a body shop that can do high quality repair work.

Sorry to hear that. Glad you didn't get creamed, though.

I always park as far away from another car as possible at McDonalds. People are always driving like idiots in that particular parking lot. Good luck man.

Folks: Just an update on Ruby. I found and independent Corvette body shop through a fellow Corvette enthusiast who is going to repair Ruby. I have seen his work and it is excellent. I am talking show quality. He has a caring spirit and loves Corvettes.

It will take a little longer because he is NOT a "production" shop.

I don't think it can get better than that.

Thanks for all the posts of care and concern. I think I see a little ruby lining to these dark clouds.
