Check out the C4 Audo FAQ in the Audio/Electronics section. It has all the details on things like this.

uh, what are you saying? Are you asking or stating?

First off... there are 4 amps, each with 50 WATTS, one per speaker pod.

Amps (amperes, named after a old school French scientist) are a measure of current... watts is a measure of power.

Gotta love ohms law.

Amps is also the abbreviation for "amplifier" which is a device used to amplify a signal.

So, if you have an device that creates 50 amps, you are killing small creatures... and people for that matter.

I'm not sure I am understanding your question. I think you are saying, "is there any difference between the front amps, and the rear amps. The answer is yes. The power is the same, but the "equalization" is different. The front speakers have more high end (frequency than the rears). But the rears, have more low freq. Power output is measured in watts. I believe they rate them at fifty each. I know they have 4 FET outputs, but it is no 50 watts. but what they are putting out is pretty clean. Providing the capacitors haven't dried out. Hope I have helped. As far as if the amps in a coupe are different than a vert. I don't know, haven't had the experience on that part. But I would bet they are the same...

they put out the same power, but the way they do it is different.

Same thing goes with the coupe to vert. They are different too, but I am not sure how.

That does make sense, as the acoustics would be way different between the two...

there are different part numbers for the coupe/vert and front/rear.

technically, they are interchangeable, but the sound quality () could be effected...

jctoy -I haven't heard what your problem you have yet. Why do you want to buy another speaker amp. Are you up-grading or trying to fix a problem that you are having. The amps can be fixed if thats where you want to go.

Check this post for repair information. There is an account of my own experience and problem resolution as well as othe links with pictures and schematics and repair procedures of the amps. Some is technical info but there also is a how to do it info if you fit the stated problems.

I am looking to replace it because it's not working. The speaker is find and it is the amp that needs to be repair or replace. Found a guy that sell amps on ebay for $ 75.00 but can't find out if there are any different on front and rears for a 92 vert . Coupe rears are different as well I have heard so they won't sound the same either. Thanks for your info but for 75.00 it seem to be a easy fix for the price and my time. Back on the road but will check back later, Thanks Forum

Is it completely dead, no audio. Or makes some kind of noise. Are you at least sure that is it the amp and not the radio or something upstream from the speaker that would drive it. Just want to make sure you are going in the correct direction.
