i have heard of the Ford Taurus SHO when it was being made. i dont care if it was the fastest car ever made, i dont care if it outruns my Vette, i wouldnt be caught dead in one,EVER !!!
Pa-leeese, my comment about the SHO forum was more about how those forums tend to bash other cars like we've regressed to doing in this thread. If you'd take the time to read some of the SHO road kill stories, you'd discover that they think they do have the fastest cars ever made. Some of the SHO guys are just as **** as other car fanciers. We've resorted to car bashing just like "them". Dumb *** me. And I thought ALL Corvettes were cars.
Drive them both. Which looks better to your eye? Which interior feels better? Are you going to do your own work? Is money an object or not? Look at the situation and pick one.
Vettes are great cars. You win no matter what you choose.
I own a 93 vert and a 05 vert. Love the way the 05 handles and the power is awsome. Having said that, I cannot imagine life without the C4. It is one good looking car. Just need a little help from my friends on how to improve the handling on the C4. Just my two cents.
Done by Consumer Reports magazine. They are not qualified to drive and rate a Z06 and I doubt they have anyone on their greenie staff brave enough to go near the limits in one. They should stick to praising location of Honda and Toyota cup holders and leave supercar reporting to those who are better qualified to do it.

I don't even use that weenie magazine to shop for a DVD player.
Besides the 03 Anniversary, 04 Commemorative Edition and the Z06's what other C5's were special interest or limited production? An 04 Z06 Commemorative would be about it for the C5 run wouldn't it?
Just my opinion, but I briefly drove a nice 2002 C5 automatic coupe today, @ 33K miles. Certainly far easier to get in/out than my '94 C4, but the seats struck me as Cavalier quality, not worthy of a hi peformance sports car. Engine felt a bit stronger than my LT1 (no suprise), but overall my impression of the car was that my C4 is a bit "sharper" for curvy backroad driving. Better ride in the C5, but the steering response/handling? Of course the o.e. tires were near the end of their useful life on the C5 while I've got excellent Mich. Pilot Sports on my car.
The view out of the windshield in the C4 simply pleases my eye while the C5....is ok. Minor, but otoh when one is an Industrial Designer, not so minor....yup I'm a sucker for a clean, cohesive design and I consider the C4's to be one of GM's best, visually.
So my C4 is "safe", not going to be traded for this C5! LOL! DFO
