I hope Al is aware of this thread. I hope he takes it to heart. And I hope he can re-take control of the company that bears his name.

This kind of CSR is woefully inexcusable.

Reading this lengthy post was very interesting. I am impressed with Lani's patience through it all, not sure if I could have kept my cool as he did. While the jury is still out on this I'm going to assume that his replacement comes in fine and that they resolve this situation. Assuming this is the case, even if the situation is cleared, why would anyone who reads through this consider this vendor for their interior needs? Knowing in advance that their customer service (responding to calls, timeliness in resolving the situation etc.) is very poor. There are other vendors out there with top notch customer service I am sure. I hope everyone who reads this thread learns from it...some will stay with Al K., for me I've read enough to make a decision to steer clear of this vendor. I don't want this kind of potential headache to deal with. thanks to the forum we all can make our own decision and go from there.

There is a saying, "Don't throw the baby out with the bath water," which I think applies here.

It's a story you all wanted to hear about, when things don't always go well.

Honestly, in time this story won't matter any more. I don't think well established businesses truly care about stuff like this. When they have a bad situation I think they just want to solve the problem and be done with it. It will take more fingers on your hands to list the number of posts here with the bad stories about other vendors. Business continues. To be frank, on their website they have a story about an order that wasn't right and it took time to get it right, now the guy is happy.

So, like others I'm just another one of those stories. And thanks for listening.

Oh about that getting fed up and getting mad thing, it never gets me anywhere. So I try to be as nice as possible and patient. Funny too about that, I get accused of getting loud and I try to explain I'm just speaking directly into the speaker phone. Then you try to explain to peole if someone was yelling into the phone you couldn't hear them well because their voice would over-modulate. Some times you can hear the blank stares. But they don't buy it. Usually at that point its best try again with someone in management.

I'm sure every thing will be fine.

Well here's my update.

The seat back arrive as promised UPS overnight Saturday delivery. It got here about 9am.

I'm still trying to decide exactly what my thoughts are, beside simply unbelievable.

Here are a few pictures:

Driver's side (original seat back from original order - been used now for just over two weeks in daily driving)

Replacement Passenger side (original seat back from original order - reworked see additional comments below pictures)

Comparison between the two installed from inside.

Comparison between the two from the outside.

Ok so giving them the benefit of the doubt last night I did not mention this. But I was made aware during my conversation that all they did was wait for the original to be returned. Tore the entire seat cover back off the new foam. Rip out the defective center panel replacing it and adjusting the levelness of the head rest component so the logo was level.

Of course this is in contrary to what I was told both from the show and from Arthur on Monday when I called. During those two conversations, I was told they were making a new seat back to replace it but wanted to wait for the return of the original to ensure they matched the thread for the logo.

Here is what I see as to what I got for my $930.

A good set of seat cushions and one good driver's side seat back (With the exception I cannot get the vertical chalk mark off the leather head rest where they drew a line to sew the logo. Last weekend I used Zaino's leather cleaner and Zaino's leather conditioner, and the chalk mark is still there.).

My passenger seat, I've got a reworked seat now. When you look at the two installed, it appears to me like one is brand new and one is 4-5 years old. Obviously the original is the newer looking one and the reworked passenger seat is the hideous looking one. The leather is not taught, there is a huge gap under the head rest of the passenger side compared to the drivers side (see photos). The piping on the inside edge of the head rest is crooked (see photo). Although no one will really see what is on the back side, but it was pretty butchered up where they removed all those hog rings and remove the covers then re-installed them. And to top it all off, on the lower split seat panel (lumbar area) they pricked the leather with a needle or something sharp as it has a puncture in it.

So look at the photos and let me know what you all think.

In a photo just about everything looks good, so its hard to tell.
The only thing that matters here is you're not happy.

One would think that for $930.00 that they could've gotten right.

Recourse:
Thats the real question isn't it?

Living with it:

I'm a 85% guy that is if I have something done and its at least 85% of what I paid for Im good with it.

Nothing is perfect, but things can be 95%, but even then its only 95% once.

The internet is handy, but seeing the finished product before you hand over your money is a better way to go.

So what was the final verdict on your seats, Jet? The short version is fine , just curious how you made out.

The Forum is the only way that we all get together and find out problems out there------ overheating problems, frame flex problems and VENDOR PROBLEMS.

Go public with it.

A reasonable settlement was reached. I'm satisified at this point. No further comments.

Thanks.
