What to do?
What treatments / options have you all done to fix the scratched ruber coating on the center console?
I'm thinking about striping the rubber coating off & painting but I don't know if I want to go through all the work.
Any suggestions?

I bought a new after market about 1 1/2 years ago. It deteroriated real fast with scraches, and dings from almost looking at. A light fingernail pressure did mark it. I never touched it and arttrached dirt like a magnet. I was lucky enough to return it and get my full money back. I installed my old one and don't like you have a good solution. All the aftermarkets the world sells is made by one persons company in China.

I looked real hard at a Ecklers function about 2 months ago and could not find anything better than what I had already. There was a dealer there with lots of selections, you just got to get lucky with your year and condition. The 94 is especially hard to find because of the finish they used that year was the soft finish.

My 96 console started to peel so I helped and took off the rest,It was looking tacky with the edges lifting,and scrathes,New one is about $150.00 and if radio plate is peeling About $50.00

GM price increase I've heard now it's like $220. and that's with a discount!
I bought a new one a couple years ago. Of course a couple weeks ago my sister rubbed the coating off the flip panel trying to push an extra large cup she had in the hole. I did catch her at the time, then it was too late.
The finish is a Dulso finish. I think there is a tech article on it otherwise a search on the web for it should be the article on how to apply it. I'd say if you decide to refinish it then look at the Dulso product and procedures and consider refinishing back to original look and feel.
