why does there seem to be so much animosity between different generation vette owners?? i grew up with a C3 and C4 and love them both. i also would love to own a C1 and C2. i'll admit it took me about a year to get use to the C5s but now i want one of them too. i guess i just think all corvettes look great in their own way. i just don't understand how people can be so loyal to their own car that they are rude to others. it doesn't stop there either, but people talk about the people who drive them. and say things like 'i never wave to C5s.' i think it's ridiculous. we all have been blessed with the opportunity to honor all vettes. why limit yourself? there are vettes that aren't my favorite (75-82), but i would never say anything bad about them or their owners, and i still wave to them.
please don't post any flaming comments here, i just wanted to say that and see if someone could explaini why it's like that. please don't start a pissing contest between generations.

save the wave!
100% I read around in the C3 section at times and some of those guys really bash C4's big time WHY?? All vettes are awsome. One of my least favorite vettes WAS the 84, becuase of that crossfire thing, howevere my friend just bought one 44k on the clock. Boy was I wrong, that car is sweet and its not slow.
So with that said, gentlemen start your engines. We All Rock.
Ive been the fbody world for 5 years and they are always cool and nice. But I noticed coming into the Vette world that alot of owners are stuck up. If someone gets offended that means you see yourself that way and that means I am talking about you then.
I give respect for any nice car that deserve it even if I see a Cobra pumping out 700hp I will give its respect. For me the real enemy is imports(ricer)I love nothing more than Vettes, Camaros, and Trans ams but credit where credit is due.
Honestly its not about the 1/4, Hp/Tq, or race record. Its about when Im at a gas station and a little kid says cool car or wants to sit in it.
well i am glad there are some other people who feel the same as me. i was starting to think i was an exception. i have a C3 and C4 so i lurk around here and the C3 section and i must say the it's bad both ways. and bashing C5s. i just don't get it. but i'm glad to hear there are others out there who appreciate all generations, and thank you for not turning this into flaming (yet)

I like them all as well. It's just that i like some more than others. I have also met owners of every generation and for the most part all are great people. However, there are snobs and arrogant sob's across the entire spectrum of Corvette owners. I guess it can't be helped. Some people feel that because they own an expensive classic car (or a big house or private jet, etc.) that the world should bow down before them, and that they should not have to "put up with" the common folk.

i agree that there are jerks and idiots in all generations, and they can KMA. it just bothers me when people come on here talking about other generations in such a negative way. it's alright to not like something, but why be so negative? i don't understand how you can like one model and hate another one so much that you have to really bash it.
The internet provides a semi-anonymous arena for people to post stuff that, if said in person, would get them in serious trouble.
Really, imagine you are at a car show and there's a guy who has to stop and tell all the owners (and any unfortunate bystander) that this car sucks, that one's ugly, this one was a POS when it was new, etc. Most people would think he was a loudmouth jerk, and he would very likely end up in a verbal, if not physical altercation. But people do the same thing on the internet all day long.
I have been seriously into cars for 30+ years now, and I don't like everything. But I don't have to go around telling everyone. Obviously there are lots of people who don't have that self-restraint.

Eh, people are welcome to call my C5 ugly in person, I won't be offended. It's just a car, and you're entitled to your opinion. Just because some random dookus calls your car ugly, hates your car, etc - It's not an insult to you. Why take things so personally? If I took insults on my car personally, I would have flipped my lid when I was a c4 owner.
