Two Fridays ago i took the long ride up to N. New Jersey. When i arrived, the 95 Comp. Yellow really made an impression on me. I didn't want yellow at first, but REALLY like it now! The car had 37,350 on it, has two tops (coupe i should've mentioned), and was a 1 owner car. Love it and will post pics at later date (as soon as someone gives me the lowdown on how to post pics). Two questions to the forum: When i got the car home, i discovered that the back up lights weren't working. Changed the bulbs and checked the fuse-no dice. Gotta be the switch? It's a six speed, can anyone help with this? Secondly, the car has the original tires. Where have you guys been going to get new rubber? Is it better to buy online, or is better to maybe just go locally to the nearest Goodyear dealer? Thanks for the help, and I gotta say, this is my second Vette ( 85 was first), and i got that lovin feeling back!

Congrats. Comp Yellow is an awesome color.
Sounds like the backup switch is kaput. Get the Helm/factory service manual...it will tell you where to look and how to test. It will also tell you a WHOLE lot more! The manual won't be cheap, but it will be money well spent.
Where's the best place to buy tires? You'll have to get local prices yourself to find that out. TireRack is always good for comparison, and many times their prices are the best....but not always.
If the prices are close (don't forget to factor in local sales taxes, shipping, free mounting, etc.), I always try to buy locally. We need to support our local businesses whenever possible.
You've made wise choices with your new Corvette and in joining the CF. I think you'll like them both.
I had the same problem when i got my car the switch is ontop of the tranny. I had my mechanic do it because i suck at working on cars i end up breaking stuff and it ends up costing me twice as much... well anyways i have a solution to your problem I will drive down to Jerzey and trade you my 94 black with silver striped 6 speed with 87k babied miles on it for your gorgeous comp yellow vette. Comp yellow is by far the most gorgeous color ever made for a C4 and yellow just looks right on any Vette. It is definately my favorite and if your interested in a trade ill be there the next day
I had the same problem when i got my car the switch is ontop of the tranny. I:
Same thing with mine. It's the switch on the top driver's side(I think) of the trans. You can get the switch from Carquest. It was a little bit of a pain getting the old switch loose and out, but overall probably took less than an hour including putting the car up on jack stands. Good luck!
Hey Bob, glad to see you found a car! Yellow is nice, too, and real low miles.
Good luck w/ her.
I buy my tires in Delaware at a place called Els. Good prices and good service, and they don't mine working on Corvettes. Also, Just Tires across from the Cherry Hill Mall is a good place, always good service and prices.

Congrats, you picked a great color. My 92 in competition yellow has 9k miles. I went with Firestone Wide Ovals and couldn't be happier. Get rid of those original tires as they have deteriorated with age....mine had original rubber as well.
