Default Lambo Doors

I am looking to install a direct bolt on lambo doors onto my 95 vette and was wondering if anyone has done this and might be able to let me know what problems if any I might have to look forward to. Also how satisfied the out come was. I was looking to go through scissordoor.com wondering if anyone has heard anything good or bad about them or if they have any suggestions as who I should get the door kit from. THX

Bad quiestion to ask. Seems everyone on here hates the lambo doors especially on a C4. I thought there was fitment problems saying they never fit just right. I wouldnt waste money on them. Kits like 2500 right?

I don't know what's worse, the question or all these useless lame duck responses, including mine.

I was kidding but serious in my response.

I'm not an expert but every thread I've seen on Lambo doors had numerous responders saying the fit just wasn't right, not worth the money, etc.

ive seen them an a couple of C4's.... and like 99% of people, i dont like them (my .02 cents)
one problem you could possible have, is if you roll onto your roof in an accident (please God forbid) you will be trapped in a car that is most likely on fire

It's your car and looks are subjective. But...; just say no. I'm not saying this because i don't like them but because none of the lambo-style doors seem to hold up well and seem to have fit and finish problems too. I know a couple of people who put them on other cars, admittedly not a Vette, but had issues of all kinds after the fitting. Highly NOT recommended.

Didn't sound to me like he was asking for approval.

orianx, I did a search, but most other threads on lambo doors are no different than this one, nothing of substance.

Click on some of these, maybe there's a shred of useful stuff for you, some pics if nothing else.

I wouldn't do it, my buddy did it on his C5 only because he actually sells the kits and needed to showcase his work.

He's removed them, so what does that tell you.

The kits are way overpriced for one thing and the doors do not operate as Lamborghini doors do.

For the money, I'd rather take a vacation.

IMO they look horrible!

Way too much money to spend on some overdone visual mod - use the money on something useful (performance, interior upgrade, etc.) for your already great looking C4 - Just my $.02

I didn't offer judgement based on his choice of door opening, but based on the experience of friends who've tried them with poor results. I can't talk about looks, I've got orange wheels for cryin' out loud!

It's your car so do as you please of course. IMHO the money would be better spent on other mods.

thank you mojo for posting my valuable insight and expert advice

and of course some anecdotal, useless remarks which are highly judgemental on my behalf:

- body trinkets appeal to non-corvette owners who are even more clueless than we are.

- $$ spent on visual cartoonland is an opportunity cost that should have been transferred under the hood.

- there's nothing that screams "i don't like corvette" like doing body mods that make your corvette all of a sudden not look like one.

- and now for the big bang: Kits Are For Kids (not even debatable here)

Except for the wheels, I kind of like the looks on this pic.
I just can't justify the expense, too many other things require my $$ at the moment.

But the question is why?

Why put the door kit on?
What purpose does it serve?
You still have to open the door the standard way before you get to the point of vertical lift.

If the kit was priced below $200, maybe so, but at $1800-2500, no way.
