Default Reputable car carrier/shipper?

Hey there,

Looks like I might be finally selling my Lumina LTZ (Step 1 in getting my C4!) The guy wants it shipped to him in SC, I am in IL (Chicago). He has never shipped a car, and he seemed to think the company he was looking at shipped port to port - so I would have to drop the car off somewhere in Chicago. I told him that seemed odd, you should be able to get a carrier to come to my place and bring it directly to him. Seems I've seen vettes picked up here in this forum that way.

Can anyone suggest a good carrier to finalize this deal? Remember, my future vette hangs in the balance!

Tom

Neither he nor I want to drive. He has a quote for about $760, but it involves me driving an hour and a half to drop the car off, which I don't want to do, there has to be a point to point service better than that.

I found these guys:

http://www.dtdtransport.com/

Talked to one of their agents, he seemed knowledgeable and they seem to have a good system. The car is insured while on the carrier and they do not drop it off and store it anywhere...anyone ever used them?

I've been checking out carriers and they all say they pick up my car at my house or close by if they can't drive a carrier to my home.
