Getting a CD player?
I too went to Circuit City and another audio place and got two different stories on what is required to replace the radio.
Now I'm concerned about taking the car in to one of these places and get a botched job.
I just want a new radio that works and sounds perfect.

1) You can get a used 94 Camaro Bose/Delco CD player from junkyard. It will drop right in, look stock, and play CDs. I had a local auto radio restoration/repair place put a brand new CD drive in the unit because the old 94 players work ok with original music CDs, but don't have good compatability with home burned CDs. You will also need to buy Part # 16129041 Delco 21 to 12 pin wiring harness adapter (about $30). This is a special wiring adapter needed to match it up to the 89's wiring. It slips on without cutting. Available on-line and through local radio repair shops.
2) Go to http://www.mnrelectronics.com/delcdcol.html and order a Part # 16175961 Delco AM/FM CD. $399.95, or Part # 16192371 Delco Bose AM/FM CD $399.95. The Bose version doesn't have buttons that match the 89 dash as well as the non-Bose version. Both will work equally well. (I have the # 16175961 unit in my 88). They have the harness adapter as well.
The part number above are the GM part numbers, so you can probably find a better deal at another site on-line or through your local junkyard. These options give you a stock look and you can swap in the components yourself, so you don't have some chucklehead cutting up your dash wiring and screwing up the VATS.
My old Bose system was toast. The rear speakers would only kick on after about 20 minutes. It did sound pretty decent when they were all working. I am much happier now.
It took me about 8 hours and several beers to take out all of the old stuff and install all new speakers and wires. The rear speakers are a breeze but the front speakers require alot of twisting and turning to get them out of the holes in the doors. Overall it wasn't too bad, just took a little time. I felt much better doing it myself thats for sure.

Looking for 12 to 21 pin adapter with antenna adapter so I can put in a Camaro CD Bose.
Found this one at Replacement Radios, but it says it's not for Bose.

And it is a very simple job to re-do the whole car.
