If you replaced the motor you had to remove the bolt on the inside of the cowl. This can only be re-assembled one way,so you may have it out of sequence. Remove the bolt, remove the rotating lever that holds the wiper arms, and let the motor cycle once,by itself, then shut it off. This should put it back to the starting point. Then with the wiper blades at the down position, reconnect the bolt onto the slotted shaft. Good luck.....
I have the exact same problem in my 84. I found that if i press the switch button down it will sometimes start working. So far im thinking a new switch might fix your problem but i would like some more info too...
also i need to find a switch for my "84" too. if you have any luck sourcing one, let me know as the ones i find are out of production and no longer available.
(have checked mine with a V O meter and it is bad)
This was exactly the 1st issue I dealt with when I got my 84 2 years ago.....the problem was the plug on the side of the motor fell out.....Once I plugged it in it worked fine again. But since oyu have replaced your components.....maybe double check that plug and contacts
