Specific picture needed. I need the passenger side fuel rail area.
Basically, take off the fuel rail cover on the passenger side, and I need a picture of what's underneath. I think I am still missing part of the vaccuum setup near the throttle body.
Wow that motor is clean!! I expected it to be very dusty under there. Do you take off all of the plastic garbage when you clean your motor and how do you get it that clean? I need some pointers!
That's perfect, and it answers my question too! Thank you!!
I took a picture of mine, and that little plug doesn't seem to go any where...see my pic...I was worried that I was missing a vaccuum hookup. I did find that one of the injector clips was loose too. Still chasing ghosts....
I didn't mean for that to be offensive, I was trying to describing all of the plastic cladding that covers up the injectors and fuel system. It makes the engine look clean, but really does not serve any other purpose.
96LT4,
I saw Rolla's pictures and notice that piece as well. It made me go out at lunch and check to see if my car is that way. It is, that makes 3 that are plumbed that way.
At the risk of making some people faint, I do wash it. I am just careful and not get too much water around the opti. Also 2 or 3 rolls of paper towels and Simple Green. Be careful with the simple green on the underside of the hood though. It can leave a chalky white residue.
I have vaguely heard about water and the opti. Can you explain more what the problem is with this combination? And where exactly is the opti and what does it look like so I can avoid it

The opti is located below the water pump on the front of the block. It is slightly off center toward the passenger side. If you follow the spark plug wires, you'll find it. Looks like a narrow, flat distributor. Not the best electrical design GM ever came up with!
