Keyless entry for '91 Coupe?

93 was the first year for PKE (Passive Keyless Entry) for the corvette. It has a either I hate it or I love it reputation.
I heard GM made a module that could be adaptive but they are hard to find and im not sure if they are backwards compatable.
If I may suggest just key a viper keyless system installed. Keep in mind keyless entry system module only. No VATs issues.
Have one on my 91 and on a 90 I recently sold. No issues.

I have a keyfob for the 91 with 4 buttons.
Lock, unlock, trunk, and a * on it.
Horn beeps once when you unlock and twice when you lock, lights flash also.
It has TRC initials on the fob.
It came with the car so I dont know much about it.

It was an add on from a previous owner. Again GM didnt have PKE until 93. My viper keyless entry system has the same functions with four buttons but one is a panic button.

I had an alarm added with keyless entry, shock sensors and other goodies. Cost me $160 installed.

I love mine too. It was very easy to install. If you want the hatch to pop, the lights to flash, or the horn to honk, you will need to order extra relays.(they're cheap$$) run a search, there are a lot of threads on this.
