Default headlamp replacement

My head lamp burned out on my 1986 corvette, Need to replace it. Anyone know what is the best one to get and how hard is it to replace them?

1. It depends. Many people like Silverstars, like I do, many like Hella via conversions. Different strokes for different folks.

2. Very easy. Use the search function for specifics. It involves rotating the headlight a certain way, removing the headlight cover, and then the ring bracket.

Here's a tip: use the Search Function, use it well. There's a whole bushel of useful info archived away that most, if not all questions will be answered.

Good luck!

Berry easy, get some Hella lenses for a great pattern and some high power PIAA bulbs and enjoy the night.

When removing the plastic body-colored headlight trim cover (or whatever it is called), make sure you have a hand or something underneath when removing the screws to keep this piece from falling and scratching.

I used plastic replacements from NAPA to help reduce the weight on the assembly. My old eyes couldn't tell the difference is brightness from others.

I did this (plastic lens thing) with mine also. Less weight has saved the motor, I'm sure!!! The glass lenses are very heavy.

I installed Silverstars and really couldn't tell much difference. I decided that I probably should check the adjustment and then I noticed a big difference. I'm not sure how much the Silverstars helped but I'm satisfied with the lights now. Others on the Forum have reported good improvemnet with the Silverstars. Gary
