For the last day or two I have encounter problems starting the vehicle. It would ask like a dead battery only to start the next time you cycled the key switch. Cables were clean and the battery seemed fine...when it would crank, it cranked like there was no tomorrow.
Today, it sounded like the starter was "hung" and when I tried to turn the car off (key back) the start kept cranking the car over. I paniced and turned the key forward and the car started right up still making the noise for another minute or two then settled down and ran normally.
I looked up starters at the parts house but I am not sure if it is the starter or the solenoid. I did not see a solenoid online, only a solenoid relay. Are these one in the same?

Sounds like all you need is to replace the solenoid. They sometimes hang up if they have some corrosion inside. Once it hangs, the starter gets 12V all the time until it releases.
You also have a starter enable relay but that is separate from the solenoid and NOT your problem.
