Hi all!!. I´m a new forum member. Nice to meet u all.
Im spanish, so its my english isnt good (sorry ). I have an 86 corvette.
Well, my problem is at the dash panel. I can see it when the sun is shining, but i cant at night. So, it works, but i dont have light in it.
The intermitence lights and large lights are allways on in the panel. I know that the problem arent the bulbs.
Anyone of u knows what hapens??. Thanks and excuse my english
Later i will show u a picture.
There are four lamps in the cluster (speedometer, tachometer, oil pressure, battery volts). They are #882 lamps and you can replace them by removing the dash cover. The lamps are quartz-iodine lamps and cost about $12 each. You will see four silver caps over the lamps. Remove the covers and remove the lamps by wrapping a piece of tape around the lamp and stick the ends together. Then use a needle nosed pliers on the tape end that is stuck together and pull straight out, make sure you do not turn the lamp. The lamp has straight pins but is in a socket that turns. If you turn the socket, it will fall into the cluster housing and you will have to remove the cluster to retrieve and replace the lamp and socket. Use a piece of tubing over the new lamps to install the lamp. If you touch the lamps, after installation use some alcohol and a Q tip to wipe the lamps because your fingerprint on the lamps will shorten their life.

Thanks!!, but i think the bulbs arent the problem. I saw it and they looks fine. I think there is any wrong connection, because intermitence lights(i think this is the correct word), and long lights signal, are allways on. I bought this car 4 months ago, and the owner told me that all the cluster works right. The car was in a repair center, and they gave me the car with that problem.
Any connection, i think. The 2 lights above the legs doesnt work too. And the bulbs are new.
Well, that left and right lights, are allways on. And center (long light) too.
Thats the reason cause i think theres any connection wrong. Dont u think iit?. Thanks for your help
I sent you 14 emails with the original scans. I suggest you find out why Firefox refuses to open the PDF's, because I'm sure you will be looking for more info.
