I swore at my monitor when I read the thread .

Congratz on what seems to be a great deal. Can you give some-more specifics on the car ?

Default 1996 vette

Its not perfect. the syncro in first is weak. But shifts well and smooth. brand new clutch. Couple other minor things. 5K is a winner
Going to purchase a new trans for it while they are a good price. But is FULLY enjoyable as is.

Also ran the vin# checkout number everything is in order, 110,000 miles

Default MONEY vs BRAINS

Obviously the guy who sold that LT-4 for 5 grand must be the new president of the "more money than brains" club!

Its not a Lt-4. Just lt-1.

Interesting. In '96 all factory 6-speeds were LT4's. So either yours was a post-factory 6-speed conversion, an LT4 in disguise, a motor swap, or not a 96.

Either way, sure can't beat that price! Looks nice!

Well i thought that was funny also seeing that the number of cars produced that year with lt4's and 6 speed manual trans was the same.
Well, After close looking up the vin number on the corvette vin chart guess what its a LT-4! Engine code 5.
LUCKY ME

Take a picture of your engine, post it and we'll try to figure it out for you.

Cha-ching! Nice! Is the throttle body red with "Grand Sport" written on it? That's awesome!
