Default Help

This is my first rear brake job on a C-4. I guess I'm a dumb @#!. How do I get the piston back in the caliper? Thanks

Big damn C-clamp! If your C-clamp is big enough you can even use one of the old brake pads between the piston and clamp to push the piston in. The pad helps distribute the pressure from the clamp. You don't need to use it if you don't have the room. Also, if you haven't done it already, you can turn your steering wheel all the way to one side or the other to point the brakes outward. That makes them WAY easier to reach. Good luck!

Not a dumb question if you haven't done it before.

Leave the old pad on the piston and use a C-clamp to squeeze it back into the caliper until it stops.

You might want to remove some fluid from the reservoir, before you compress the piston into caliper.
